I think this might some type of Marbled Orb Weaver especially given the afternoon fall sighting. It's hard to tell via scale, but this seemed like a big 'un to scaredy cat me - so probably female..? It was trucking and after taking the picture to call back friends to look at it, it was already gone. Thought the snap was sharp enough to share, cheers.
