Saw it on my shed door when I went for mower. I have two young kids want to make sure not poisonous…. Initially thought maybe orbweaver?

Dolomedes tenebrosus. It looks like a less common version of the markings on a Dark Fishing Spider. https://bugguide.net/node/view/1796351 The link is to another photo of one with bright white markings They’re usually brown, black, orange, and a little bit of white. It doesn’t have medically significant venom. New York is relatively quite safe, from the venomous animals perspective.
