Is this a Huntsman or armed/Brazilian wandering spider. Found in my kitchen in Santa Teresa Costa Rica.
It did raise its arms at me like armed spiders do while I was putting them in their tupperware container and it was found on the ground. I only have videos of it... no good pictures.

Armed/Wandering Spider (tentatively Phoneutria depilata) I believe that some but not all members of this genus are considered to be medically significant towards humans in terms of venom. Cool spider, though.
Wow thank you so much for this information – I have been debating with my partner if it was an armed spider or just a huntsman for months now. I understand armed spiders are one of the most venomous spiders in the world but it interesting to know that not all are!
