Actually found two today. A smaller female in its web built between the top rails of plastic sawhorses. This one that was in its web built on top of a piece of webbing on a pigeon toaster that launches clay pigeons.
Looks like a Northern Black Widow. Venomous, but not aggressive and will only bite in defense. Bites are painful but usually only potentially life-threatening for children and those with bite allergies. Still should be treated by a doctor if a bite does occur.
