Hi I wonder could this be a little orb weaver – Araneus alboventris?- https://bugguide.net/node/view/340592- I am a novice at this so your guess is as good as mine.
It’s possible. Bugguide doesn’t have a Massachusetts sighting yet, but it will probably have one soon.
