This isn’t a spider. It is an insect. A spotted lantern fly….. It is harmless to humans …..but it is an important agricultural pest. It is not native and there are efforts on going to eradicate it. I am not american so I don’t know if you need to report the sighting. Here is some information. There is a contact in there to report the sighting but as i said im not sure if you have to. https://www.nj.gov/agriculture/divisions/pi/prog/pests-diseases/spotted-lanternfly/homeowner-resources/

Thank you Nod. You don’t have to report invasive species in US, it is just a very good thing to do to protect the country’s environment and agriculture. This species can still be completely stopped in the US, it is still in isolated areas that can be controlled.
I had a friend who found an extremely invasive insect in a plant she bought and she didn’t contain the plant, or call the store or grower or Dept. of Agriculture. It really decreased my respect for her that she chose to do nothing toward trying to stop an infestation.
