Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

This jumping spider has been living on my sage plant outdoors, I’ve seen it for the last few days. I believe it’s a phidippus species but I’m not sure which. It’s very small, about the size of my i3 and i4 phidippus audax slings. It doesn’t look exactly like any species I can find researching but that may be because its not mature so it doesn’t have its mature coloration. My thoughts were maybe princeps, putnami or clarus, although none of the clarus I’ve seen (seen in more northern counties of Wisconsin) have translucent upper legs like this spider. The only adult phidippus species I have seen in Pewaukee are audax so I’m very curious to know what species this is. I will also upload a front facing picture, I have plenty more pictures if another view is needed. The seek app identified one picture of it as a phidippus californicus but I am skeptical of that. Although the californicus I was given by a woman who found one on her organic grapes last year did have a similar orange patch on the back of the head similar to this spider. This spider also has an area on the middle of the lower abdominal area (on top side) that shines when the light hits it and looks dark when it doesn’t. Chelicerae is a red-brown color. I selected no for “found in web” but I have seen it in its hammock on a sage leaf, it’s not not in these pictures. Thank you!
