Comments & ID Thoughts
I’m hoping not but I think this might be a brown recluse or desert recluse. As it backed away it looked about the size of a quarter and it backed away like it was ready to attack as I sprayed it, not running like others. Have 3 young kids so really need help identifying if possible. Can no longer find it.

Hi. Fernley is too far north for desert recluse and no brown recluse in Nevada.
No known spider attacks humans, we are not prey.
I can’t see enough detail to guess what spider this may be and if you must hose them down, don’t poison your children with pesticides. A 50/50 mix of dish soap and water in a spray bottle works just as well.
Living in Clark county 30 years, well in the range of desert recluse, I never saw a single one in the wild.
