Found this in my bathroom today, no idea what it is called, anyone help on that. I put it in a plastic pot with soil, it has no partially buried itself. The botyome of the glass is 4cm across.

This is just a guess, and by no means certain, but offhand I’d say it’s a male Trapdoor Spider. Female Trapdoor Spiders live in burrows their entire lives, appearing briefly to snatch prey, and then retreating underground. Male Trapdoor Spiders live in burrows until they mature, at which point they leave their burrows (often on rainy nights) and go wandering in search of females. That is likely how this one ended up in your house. If you release him outside at night, he should continue his frenetic search for a mate.
Thank you for the reply, sounds very reasonable to me. I think he is also the one that bit me in bed during the night. Took 3 weeks to heal. I released him during the day as a freinds child is very much into spiders, but it was on a damp morning, with plenty of places to look for his mate away from my house.
