Hi. Yes, a male giant house spider. While they are capable of biting, they seem rather reluctant to. Lots of people handle these and keep them as pets and very few bite reports.
Worst case would be like a mild bee sting. What few of these I have handled, bite tests all failed. This time of year, they abandon their web to search for mates, this guy might be better off in a garage or tool shed.
