Spider pictured on the south shore of the greater Montreal area. Never seen anything like it before. Hopefully some of you may help me identify it!

My guess is Argiope trifasciata, the Banded Garden Spider. Nice find!

This is Argiope trifasciata.
I’m the site moderator but I don’t have the controls for the site. If a correct ID is given by a volunteer I usually don’t write anything and the submission looks unfinished.
