Yes, Trichonephila clavata, a Joro Spider. https://www.japanpowered.com/folklore-and-urban-legends/jorogumo-the-whore-spider The link is to an explanation of the name. It’s from the cryptid creature of legend, the Jorogumo. The Joros are accidental Asian imports.
