Found in an exterior rodent bait box, pictured after I broke the top of her web to move her out- looks like a grass spider, most like agelenopsis naevia. The body is almost an inch long. Can't see the spinnerets too clearly through the web, but they really stand out.

Hi. I agree with your call. Only time I see them make little sleeping bags like this is wintering over or a safe place to lay eggs.
This she looks like she is ready to pop. Laying eggs is a good bet.
Find her a safe place to do this.
