Technically not a spider. It’s called a harvestman, and it’s a cousin of the spider.

Defianthyena

It’s a daddy longlegs, or harvestman.

Welcome to the site, Defianthyena! You’re both correct. This critter is in Class Arachnida>order Opiliones. Spiders are class Arachnida>order Aranae. The most noticeable difference is that Opiliones/ Harvestmen/Daddy Long Legs have all their systems in one compartment. Spiders have two compartments, tagmata, connected by a tube, the pedicel.

Thanks! Personally, the harvestmen kind of freak me out, even though I know full well that they’re harmless creatures. Something about the legs, I suppose. In the summer they’re everywhere where I live. But I still think they’re fascinating animals.
