Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

Anyone know what kind of spider this is? It also has a red end of the abdomen/spinneret, but I could only post one photo. This one is about the size of a quarter. That's my guess. It was up high, spinning a web between a tree and a cable. It was very exposed.

https://bugguide.net/node/view/16526 Neoscona oaxacensis, a Western Spotted Orbweaver. These have can be many different colors. There are images in the link. They do seem to usually be found in high exposed places, like on bridges.
