Argiope bruennichi
(Wasp Spider)
Probably Argiope trifasciata https://bugguide.net/node/view/2015. They look about the same, but there are no records of A. bruennichi in Canada, maybe one in Alaska. It would take an expert with a microscope to ID her scientifically to species. We give a ‘best possible’ answer from the image and location.
Your spider is gravid with eggs, nearly ready to make egg sacs. The eggs and spiderlings are freeze-resistant. The hatchlings will emerge in the Spring and will disperse away from each other.
