Orb Weaver! Most likely Araneus genre

Yes! Araneus marmoreus, a Marbled Orbweaver. https://bugguide.net/node/view/2016 Good job at identifying the genus without having the species memorized. It’s a very useful skill. This species has a wide variety of colors and markings. The things that are consistent are: The dorsal { } -like wavy markings are in there. The leg band markings, proximal to distal, are generally red> white/red > white/ black. I tried to
represent this with emojis, but I think the site isn’t current enough. Only black and white square emojis work-not red. Circle emojis don’t work at all. I’ll find another way.

Thanks for the complient! And thanks for teaching me these new tips. I believe I understand the leg band marking example!
