Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

I have never seen this spider in WV in 30 years. looks like a Black widow with no markings although this picture doesn't do it justice(looks elongated) I've seen a couple similar posts to mine though. I have seen tons in my house and under my house this summer and fall. but before now I had never seen them before so I'm thinking of some kind of orb Weaver? The closest thing I have seen is a false widow that is native to Africa so probably not right. They are about the size and shape of a widow full grown but I've also seen them very minute and they are still black to very dark brown. I have never seen them in a web. And I have found them under the house and in the house and on the porch and so they seem to be everywhere with no specific preference to light dark wet dry. Btw the one pictured here was a "baby" approx 2mm magnified by phone
