Comments & ID Thoughts
We believe it's a wolf spider. But initially he thought it was a brown recluse spider with how fast it was. It's hard to see it in the carpet.

Rabidosa rabida? https://bugguide.net/node/view/26083 My best educated guess is: Rabid Wolf Spider. Despite the name, they aren’t dangerous to us or pets. If you didn’t already catch and release, it can be found in the dark by the eyeshine if you use a bright flashlight. If you couldn’t catch it it will probably survive by eating other spiders and any insects it can find. It’s definitely not a Brown Recluse.
Grass spider? Put your sneakers on. They are FAST lol
