Forgot to mention the spider was in a storage bin of our RV.
I don’t know. Dehydrated dead spiders are difficult. I don’t recognise the legs. It appears to have a 3 segmented body, like an insect. The chelacerae don’t look like a spider’s. The legs are bent very symmetrically. Are you sure it’s real?
Yes, I’m sure it’s real. I wasn’t too hopeful about getting an ID considering it’s condition. Thanks, though for your effort!
It’s “holding” a small bird feather. Or that just got stuck in the web.
This is not a dead or dehydrated spider. It’s the molted skin from a growing spider. Those big holes at the top of the legs where they attach under the carapace? That’s the giveaway. As for the species, not enough detail visible for me to help, sorry.
Thank you! That’s really cool, there are 8 holes for the 8 legs. I appreciate your info. 🙂
That is really cool information! It’s long gone, but I wish I had taken more pictures! I once got to see a tarantula shed it’s skin. It was fascinating! Thank you!
