Hi. I was flicking through spiders of new zealand on this site and came across this one. It may be a match for your spider..perhaps..https://spiderid.com/picture/15294/#comments..Badumna insignia..The black house spider. An Australian native that has been imported to NZ. Not aggressive but is capable of a painful bite if provoked. Not dangerous though.
