Humacao, Puerto rico. hoping it’s not dangerous because it’s in my room on my ceiling. i don’t know how to kill it or if i should. does anyone know? recluse? baby huntsman? it’s about 1 1/2 inches across including legs

Probably a type of spider in the Sparassidae family.

Or a “Flattie.” Please don’t kill it. Both types of spider hunt down bugs in homes and will leave you alone. If you don’t want it please put a cup over it and slide paper under the cup. That forms a cage so you can gently release it outdoors.
Spiders are fragile and should be placed carefully.
So it is either a Huntsman or a Flattie in the Selenopsidae family. Both are interesting spiders that can rotate super fast.

It looks like Flattie which I have seen a few times in south Puerto Rico.
