Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

Eyeshine!? Some spiders, such as Fishing and Wolf Spiders, appear to have glowing eyes photos. A matrix of tiny crystals in the eyes reflect light in their eyes toward the retina to amplify night vision. Other nocturnal predatory species have this also. This is an unintentional photo of an eye of my dog with a minimal flash setting. She stuck her face up to the camera. I think the white specks inside her eye over the retina are the crystals reflecting light.
