My first guess is a some sort of writing spider but by comparison to other pictures I don't think it has long enough legs. The only semi similar picture I've been able to find is one of a garden cross spider which looks more like the one I took (link to specific picture below). When I go to look up other garden cross spiders I only able to match it with that specific one as far a average shape and color to my picture. It was hard to get a good picture with lighting reflected off it's yellow body.
