It was a good guess, I think this one isn’t in spider guides for Canada. It looks like a Adamson’s House Jumping Spider, Hasarius adamsoni. I think it is male from the coloring. https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/347886-Hasarius-adansoni It is an introduced species from Africa. There is an active pet trade for the species that you’ll see if you google it. It is also spreading through the trade of greenhouse plants. Please consider keeping this spider as a pet in an enclosure so can’t reproduce and spread a species that might become invasive.
