Pholcus phalangoides
Cellar spider, Pholcus phalangiodes (family Pholcidae), they have almost exact markings, so yea See if you also see the resemblance♥️
Well the Pholcus that are common around here, P. phalangoides, P. manuelli, P.oppinoides generally look the same abdomen pattern wise. But are separated based on different features on cephalothorax carapace region. I have found multiple P.manuellis and P.phallongoides.
I think you are right. the abdomen is a little big though. might be a female about to lay eggs. they are harmless to humans unless you are allergic to their venom.
Hello Stoopy! You got a laugh from me with your “background/education” part of your bio. You’re a teenager without a PhD?! If you’re interested in pursuing an entomology degree after high school, please let me know. I’ve come across some universities and scholarship funds ideas. Their are some summer job opportunities in the field too.
If any volunteers want a reference for volunteering here I can give you my contact info.
🙂
I think this is a long-bodied cellar spider. I have one as a pet. The abdomen looks a little big, but it could be pregnant. IDK for sure.
🙂
