Common name southern house spider. Kukulcania hibernalis species.
A totally harmless spider, they are even a prefered pet because they can live to 8 years in captivity.
One of mine lived behind my water cooler over 5 years.

Males look a lot different, often mistaken for brown recluse and needlessly killed.

Thank you for the information I have no intention of killing it believeme he has resided in my utility for a couple of years now and does me no harm . I was just fascinated to find out what type of spider he is as never seen one like it before x
Your image is of a female. At one point, I had 5 living about my place starting with a female I rescued in a thunder storm. Her long life gave me a lot of time to observe her behavior. With help of a couple people that also kept these, they are one of a few spiders I could write a book about. they are fascinatingly unique.
An invertebrate pet dealer sells these as “Arizona black hole spider”.
On Youtube, multitudes of videos posted by people welcoming them, feeding them, handling them.
Oh wow thank you for that Dan .
