Clover mite or spider? I am having trouble identifying.

They cling to small weeds and form clusters to float on water. They’re little orange specks. My magnified photos show they have white legs. There is a taxonomic difference between these and the ones that parasitize spiders. Yours is a different species than mine, it looks like it has dorsal ridges. The best answer would have been, it depends on how big it was. Mites are like paprika.
