Comments & ID Thoughts

Hobo or Huntsman? We now live on a lake with a 50ft tree buffer, with lots of underbrush (obtaining estimates to remove). While we have no mosquitos, it's very 'buggy' outside, which has created arachnophobia hell. I photographed this spider outside my window last night

TangledWeb

Hi, nothing to fear here. This is probably an orb weaver kind of spider. They make the big round webs that look like the spiderweb emoji. Their primary prey is large flying insects. The immature females eat smaller flying insects. They will bite in self-defense in the way a bumble bee will sting if you molest it. Their bite is said to be similar to a bee sting in pain and medical reaction also.
