I think this is a Wolf spider (Lycosidae family). I see this type a lot when out in the desert giving stargaze talks in the night. Always surprise our visitors when telling them that in some spot like 30 m away there's a spider and then showing it was true (of course using my head lamp and viewieng the reflection of their eyes). At first, I tell them I was early that afternoon, caught a few spiders and tied them up with a very thin thread and they're like "no way!". At the end -of course- always explain how I see them.
