Comments & ID Thoughts

I believe this is a brown recluse but would like help in confirming it. I live in a home built in the 1950’s. We’ve actually seen about 5 and this is the first one we caught alive, placed in a jar w/lid, to help identify. Any help is appreciated. My fear is that we have a nest.

Kukulcania hibernalis, Southern house spider. NOT a brown recluse!!! It’s in the eyes. This spider has two rows of eys towards the front (if you could zoom in with better quality, would be 8 eyes in two rows). Brown recluse has 3 pair of eyes, 6 total; one in middle and a pair on each side. And to be honest, brown recluse spiders are extremely uncommon, and basically harmless (you could pick one up, it’s not gonna bite, it’s going to run).
