Found in backyard on garage door. May be a Oval Saint Andrew’s Cross Spider
This is actually a male Zebra Jumping spider I’m pretty sure. May I ask how big it was?
Much less than 1/2 inch
Thanks for the info!
Here is a link to a photo of a Zebra Jumper:
I am now certain that that is what it is.
Thank you!!! I was wondering if it was poisonous because my 2 year old granddaughter pointed it out to me. Thanks to your info I am very glad that it is not harmful unless attacked then it will bite.
Your very welcome! Happy I could help! All spiders are venomous, but only a handful of spiders are considered deadly or dangerous. Jumping spiders are pretty much harmless unless they are trapped in a corner or is pinned. Same goes for any Orb weaver, including the Oval St. Andrew’s Cross spider. If you do happen to get bit by one it will be more like a bee sting than anything else.
