This large and high light(ish) brown spider walking in our living room. House is surrounded by garden and nature, tall trees, rocks and moss. A few minutes from the ocean. House is very clean, no webs, not cluttered , nothing old or dirty and no basement . The garden is maintained and no garbage around and no dead plants. We have spring spiders but nothing like this guy…. He was around two inches and tall. I think it is a brown recluse.

First, you have no brown recluse in Canada.
This is a male giant house spider and no threat at all to humans or pets.
This time of season, these little guys are wandering in search of mates and do stray indoors. Females do live in webs, often in man made structures.
