I have no idea it was the size of a half dollar with leg span. Really fast and had looked like bird feathers in its web by its legs, small web up by the roof of my front porch

She is a species that makes orb ( circle ) webs, Argiope aurantia. The bird feathers in the web are interesting. It may have fed on a chick or a dead bird. There are giant Orbweavers in another part of the world that catch birds in their webs. We have photos of American spiders eating fish, small birds, and lizards.
