This spider’s body was about the size of a U.S. nickel. With the legs it was larger in diameter than a US quarter.

Looking at the spiders for Minnesota, the closest guess I would have would be a Zebra Jumper, but the pattern on the back is wrong.

When it saw me approach as it was sitting on its web that it was working on (or maybe eating - it was around 6:20pm) it shook the web or “bounced”. Thinking that was a defense mechanism because it was scared or trying to alert me to its presence.

This was in an entry way of a multi tenant commercial building. This door would be a lesser used side door, but won’t be because we just signed a lease. There were MANY spiders under the awning and around the door both inside and out.

I will have to either clean it up myself or ask the property manager to do so. I do not want to harm the spiders, but this door is going to be the main access point for 60+ music students ages 4-adult each week. If there is any advice for how I can clean it up without harming the spiders, it would be appreciated.
