She’s in genus Araneus Araneus nordmanni? https://bugguide.net/node/view/39146 I’ve never identified this species before, we only have 3 photos submitted to the site. She’s beautiful! I’ll file it as A. nordmanni, I can change it if anyone offers a better ID idea.
Thank you! You should still have Moderator controls if you wish to use them. You’re welcome back if we could be so fortunate. Kyle is considering adding giving more volunteers some Moderator controls to help us keep up with the demand. We haven’t added any yet. Happy 2024!
Thanks, I’d love to find the time and energy again. Life has been throwing non-stop obstacles at me though. Maybe I’ll make an effort to do some IDs soon but it’ll probably be very sporadic. Belated Happy New Year to you!
It’s great to hear from you Note the notice on the site. Our server storage was on the brink of being full, Kyle says he deleted a lot of stuff already. I didn’t know about the plan to concentrate on N. America, but I agree with it. The alternative was to use computer vision to help us try to keep up. I prefer to focus our knowledge and not be Google. Any help is appreciated, I’m sporadic too.
It was to me too. I’m not part of the Spider ID Team. Kyle and I discussed adding moderators and/ or editors, but I didn’t know we were eliminating most of Earth. I think iNaturalist requires Location to be on while photos are taken and that’s a deterrent for many people. I keep it off. I don’t know what was deleted. The other countries seem to still have their photos.

It’s news to me.

Great shot of an absolutely beautiful Orb-Weaver. I’ve never seen one like this
