https://bugguide.net/node/view/96393 Eriophora ravilla. I tried Google Lens and got the same result. At least it recognized it as an orbweaver. I’ve never tried Google bard, but now I will. Lens was created for Google Glass, the wearable search engine eyeglasses. It works better with plants than animals. A Barn Spider is Araneus caviticus, the species of Charlotte in the book “Charlotte’s Web.” Honestly I found the answer to your photo from my own memory. This is a distinctive-looking species though Google can’t recognize it. 🙂
Ooh! Right on point! ☺️ Wow so cool you knew it off the top of your head. How do you know Honduran spider species so well? I lived all my life here and it was the first time I saw it. I also was curious about how it wouldn’t get recognized given the big white spot in the center, I guess both bard and Google Lens need a touch up xD
Thanks for finding it so quickly!
