Every evening I come home from work this big boy is on my porch! Only when it’s dark and the web is perfectly structured! Anyone know what type of spider it is?
Clever girl. She has positioned herself to nab flying insects attracted to the light. Its hard to make out the her markings. However we have relatively few big orb weaving species in Ireland. I am fairly sure it is a European garden spider because of the white cross on the top of her abdomen….they are very variable … https://www.naturespot.org.uk/species/garden-spider
Harmless enough so? Just let it do it’s thing
Just tried Google lens for curiosity and you are correct European Garden spider, she’s a big girl ill have to start charging rent lol.
Spiders earn their rent by eating pest insects.
