I saw this giant spider outside my home .i have kids living in my home . I need to know what spider it is .when i would gwt close it would stand in kind a defemsive mode. It looked like a taruntala but im not sure it wqs very big ? Can i explain get help and if i shpuld worry for these kind of spiders

Looks like a tarantula, both in the image and in the defensive position you described. I’m not sure how big of pests they can be, but I imagine they do more good than harm. Just don’t like grab and squeeze it or anything and you should be fine.
