Found on path outside front door. Was rather large, thought it looked like an orb weaver of some sort but it didn't spin any web lines to save itself falling off things, placed it in a tree so it was off the path. Google telling me it's a cat faced spider but doesn't look the same to me? Sorry photo is not best quality!

We don’t have the cat faced spider in this part of the world. I think you are correct that it is a garden orb weaver – Araneus diadematus – At this time of the year they are elderly – The females have laid their eggs and their abdomens have lost their shape. https://spiderid.com/spider/araneidae/araneus/diadematus/
Ah yes that does look right, thankyou! When i saw it i thought it looked too big to be it but i just read that the females can be up to 20mm and thinking about it now i think that must be about right!
