Comments & ID Thoughts

Can anybody help me identify these spiders. They are relatively small, about 5mm head to abdomen end (not including legs). I found about 5 of them together about an garden bed, and they seem to be relatively a communal species.

I think these are possibly Pardosa wolf spiders.

Pardosa spiders tend to be present in large numbers. In fact when early naturalists observed large numbers of these spiders scurrying across the ground together, it was thought that they hunted in packs… hence the name. Wolf spiders are in fact solitary hunters, but the name has stuck, and is applied to members of the family around the world to this day.

I agree with Nod.
