A male wolf spider.

Thank you! I thought that’s what it was based on lists of Texas spiders, but this was far and away the biggest one I’ve ever seen so I was doubtful.
I had a female I kept a while, she could cover the palm of my hand.
One other, is the Carolina wolf spider at very slightly larger, but not as big as those huntsman spiders.
