Comments & ID Thoughts
My friend found this guy in his garden! My initial first thought that came to mind was the Bold jumper, Phidippus audax. However, I didn't notice a colorful sheen on the mandibles and the white seemed more vivid. So maybe regal? Still on the fence, neither seem to fit. Any guesses?

Species Anasaitis canosa – Twinflagged Jumping Spider – BugGuide.Net
I agree. Ineverkill, the “twin flags” on this species are the bright white fuzzy palps. It has more white markings than the similar jumpers. Yes, the color of the chelacerae was the first clue.
I had these when I lived in California, so it is one species I am fairly familiar with.
Hard to see the palps here, but I am 99% certain.
Oohhhhh thank you! That’s why it was difficult for me to see that spider identity, I wasn’t able to find any twin flag with those fuzzy almost spikey white bits. What led you to the conclusion it was one?
Been up close and personal with a few.
I could have sworn male Phidippus regius, it’s pitch black and not brown, has the two white fuzz stripe on the legs, and has smaller eyes ;-; you all know more than I do though
https://bugguide.net/node/view/6790/bgimage Here’s the submissions that Bugguide labelled as P. regius. They don’t have the white tufts. I’m going with Bugman’s opinion, he has more spider handling experience than I do.
