found this little guy here in the caribbean, im mind blown as to how he came here from california..

note: this is a california trap door spider
This does look similar to a Californian trapdoor spider but I don’t think it is…the californian trapdoor spider male has a noticeable notch in its front legs.

I can’t see it clearly but there may a saddle like depression on the third leg counting from the front…so not sure but it could be a different trapdoor spider in the genus Ummidia…Ummidia salebrosa is present in the Virgin Islands but I could not find a picture of it……
They are part of a huge family so there are other possibilities
