Oooh that’s a lovely shot for the site. The little one is actually an adult male who has come a calling.
I like how the male spiders are mistaken for babies. 🙂 The little one is the male. There may be more males visiting her soon. She put out a scent to signal them that she’s ready to mate.
Thankyou Nod, Yes captured at the right moment. I studied the female for a few days, a twig blew into her web, she built an entire new web 7 meters away. Too windy my next observation proves to me of their incredible eyesight, for she abandoned that web and walked 50 yards away, up a gradient along a suspended power line and dropped into a neighboring abandoned garden all over-grown and built a new web again.
