Huge female black widow. Found crawling out from right underneath my couch between my feet. Wonder what made this beast of a girl stray from her nest. Guessing she came from the crawlspace to get some warmth? Trapped in a 32oz mason jar. Measured about 1.5” or bigger in diameter

She’s impressive 🙂 She’s almost ready to make egg sacs. There aren’t Black Widows where I live, but I have other members of family Theridiidae in my house. She might have been following a vibration. When I sit on my hardwood floor near my couch playing a dice game with a friend, we get approached by my tangleweb spiders that tend to go to the wobbly plastic game board. Insects do it too. I have a digital album of photos of bugs posing on the game board.
