Quite an energetic little spider! This was the only good photo I was able to get of it. The abdomen is slightly lighter than it looks in the photo, and has a kind of zebra striped pattern on it. It was moving around a lot, and jumped from surface to surface as well as onto a tiny fly. About 8mm in length at a guess.

I think this is a lovely male jumping spider in the genus Salticus. The males of this genus have very large protruding jaws. Their pattern is very variable and can be hard to identify to species level sometimes….. My guess is that this is the most common species in the genus ……the zebra jumping spider.
