Comments & ID Thoughts

Up close it looked like its legs, ceohalothorax, and abdomen were fuzzy (“fuzzy” as in hairy (?)!)!

It was the size of a USD dime (I could have slid a dime under it, and the area of its splayed legs and body would have filled the circumference of a dime)

It was sitting on the door frame in my garage; I didn’t want it entering my house, so I tried to shoo it away, but it wouldn’t budge.

I was thinking that if it would eat crickets, as crickets sometimes make their way into my garage, I’d be glad for the spider in my garage as long as it wasn’t a biting threat to me, my family, and our cat.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can tell me what kind of spider this is.

The next time I looked for it, it was gone. Lol

A ground spider, Gnaphosidae family, Gnaphosa genus.
When I was in Vegas, these would sometimes get trapped in sink or bathtub.
They don’t like hands, so hard to catch. A possible bite can sting pretty good for the size of spider, but that is their worst, they don’t run around biting people or pets.
