We saw this in a national park. A couple of rangers could not identify the spider from this picture. And I haven’t been able to find any images on the internet of a spider with such a pronounced ‘X’ on its back … like a warning from nature 🙂
Just a guess but It may be a male huntsman in the genus Heteropoda perhaps. ? The contours on the front part of the spider can sometimes be outlined In white. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/17152407
There are a few very similar heteropoda spp in the area. ..but it could be something else entirely too.
