Looks like a brown recluse with the shape of on its back. Best bet is to call out a pest control company. We use Blue Chip for this same kind of spider treatment. We have dogs and kids and their products are pet and people friendly. We also live in St. Louis, Missouri. Hope this helps!
Unfortunately most houses have them but often don’t see them. It is also their mating season so the males are on the move to find the females. We have a spike every year about this time where we see several. So you aren’t alone just get it treated to prevent an infestation. Sticky traps through out the house are also good to find where they might be heavier located, just place where kids and pets don’t have access. Good Luck!
Found this spider floating in my cup of water placed on a table near my bed in a basement bedroom. No windows or doors to outside in immediate area. I would like to ID and use a product safe for humans and dogs.
I found this spider dead, floating in a cup of water.

Thank you so much, I think! I thought it might be a B Recluse, but was hoping against hope it wasn’t. Thanks also for the referral.
